Asha Kartha is a UK-based Bharatanatyam Performer, Choreographer, and Cultural Curator. Her art is distinguished by its profound commitment to classical purity, fused with a powerful drive to create new, relevant repertoire for global audiences.
Asha’s journey is rooted in a lifelong dedication to the art form, beginning at age three. She received rigorous training from esteemed masters in India, including Nattuvanar A. S. Natarajan (Madras) and Guru RLV Anilkumar. She achieved her Arangetram at age nine and has performed widely across Kerala, India and the UK.
Currently training under Guru Srikanth Natarajan, Asha's practice is focused on integrating her deep classical foundation with a forward-thinking artistic vision.

A powerful dance tribute to the literary genius of M.T. Vasudevan Nair, one of Malayalam cinema's most celebrated screenwriters. The production interpreted three of his beloved screenplays, seamlessly blending classical dance with theatre to transport audiences into the compelling worlds created by M.T.
Dashavatara (2022)
Conceptualised, choreographed, and directed a full-length production (1 hr 30 mins) involving 35 artists, presenting the ten avatars through a blend of Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattom, Cholliyattom and Theatre.
Thadaka (2024)
A dance drama inspired by the famous poem 'Thadaka Enna Dravida Rajakumari' by Sri Vayalar Rama Varma, where Asha choreographed and performed the lead role.
Original Hindi Varnam (2025)
A novel composition featuring original lyrics in Hindi, designed to broaden the art form's linguistic and emotional landscape. This piece powerfully explores the Naayika’s emotional spectrum from longing to reunion.
Asha serves as a key Member and Curator of Dance and Drama Performances for KALA (Kerala Arts and Literary Association), UK. In this capacity, she curates performances for major annual ticketed events (400+ audience), actively working to bring Indian classical arts to wider cultural platforms and audiences in the UK.
